Le Petit Cheval began to be produced in 1988. This wine has performed well since the first vintage and has its own unique identity. The initial wine comes from the fruit of new vines or the wine that is not blended into the first wine. Today, Le Petit Cheval has its own style and brewing standards, with 50% of the wine being injected into new French oak barrels for 10-12 months.

Very firm and fresh with blueberry, blackberry and chocolate. Full body, firm tannins. This is long and deep. A very beautiful second wine.

The 2014 Petit Cheval is silky and beautifully aromatic. Sweet floral and herbal notes meldinto a core of red cherry, tobacco, anise and mint. Medium in body and gracious, the 2014possesses striking balance, especially for a second wine. This is a great expression of theestate with the midweight structure that gives the wine its near-term appeal.

Almost equal proportions of Merlot and Cabernet Franc have given a beautifully perfumed wine. It has quite a structure for a second wine, although this is balanced with the intense black fruits. The touches of wood have given this wine its light spice flavor.
